A gorgeous vintage sterling silver pendant set with a huge polished Carnelian cabochon in a rich, glowing red-orange tone.
This is a substantial, weighty piece with a beautifully simple oval setting that really lets the stone do the talking. The Carnelian has a smooth domed surface and catches the light beautifully, with that almost illuminated quality you get from a good translucent stone.
I have given the silver a polish to bring back its shine, but I haven’t taken it through a heavy or deep polish. I prefer vintage jewellery to retain some of its history rather than removing every trace of age, so you should expect some light surface marks and signs of previous wear.
